Performance of analogue and digital transducers; selecting a proper transducer for a given application. Analogue transducers: solenoids, thermocouples, pressure transducers. Digital transducers: optical encoders, ultrasonic sensors. Signal conditioning: signal analysis, frequency response, filter design, op-amp circuits. Data acquisition systems (A/D and D/A converters). Stepper motors: microprocessors: structure, programming, applications. Course project.
- This course provides The students of the credit hour programs of MDE, and PCE with background about civil engineering and its scope. At the end of the course, the student should be able to identify the different stages of construction, types of loads, types of building materials, and types of strctural systems. He should also be able to understand the basic elements of plane surveying.
- Students will be able to find the branch currents and node voltages for simple DC and AC circuits. Students will also be able to analyze circuits that include transformers. Students can predict the performance of basic DC and AC motors with emphasis to those found in industry. Finally students will be able to design circuits based on simple logic gates.
