Dear all, Thank you for continuing to use EgyptEducation.Org. Here is the recent statistics about the site: Courses: 213 Users: 14003 Teachers: 81 Posts: 1426 Questions: 22833 Resources: 3818 The site uses moodle 1.9.5. We will update to the latest moodle version (1.9.7) during the midyear vacation inshaAllah. During the update the site may be down for an hour or so. For teachers, it may be a good idea to reset your course in preparation for the new term. The reseting procedure is appended below. Also, please join me in congratulating Dr. Essam Hashish for his release. Dr. Essam was one of the early supporters of EgyptEducation and his news was shared on this forum before (http://www.egypteducation.org/moodle/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=219). If you have graduated and do not want to receive any future announcements, change your profile settings or delete your account. Reseting Procedure Reseting your courses allows you to remove all enrolled students and delete all last year's discussions, assignments and quizes. Yet, the resetting process allows you to maintain all the resources (files, presentations, etc.). Here is the procedure: 1. Go to the course page 2. Click Reset on the left hand menu 3. Check the items that you want to delete. For the Roles, select "Student" only. Do not delete the teachers; otherwise you won't be able to log in your course. 4. Click Reset Course |

Dear all, EgyptEducation was updated to the latest version. Please note that you may be asked to change your password as the new version uses a stricter password policy. Also, note that 'Grades' feature is now running well and is available to be used by teachers. Three non-standard modules have also been added: 1. Feedback: The Feedback module allows you to create and conduct surveys to collect feedback from Students. It is smaller in scope and therefore easier to use than the Questionnaire module, and unlike the Survey tool allows you to write your own questions, rather than choose from a list of pre-written survey instruments. 2. Attendance: Allows teachers to add attendance records of the course and is linked to the student's grades. 3. Questionnaire: The Questionnaire module allows users to complete online feedback style forms using a variety of user input methods. It allows you to create your own questions, unlike the Survey module which has presets to choose from, and it allows for more advanced questionnaires than the simpler and easier Feedback module. If you run into any problems while running EgyptEducation with the new version of moodle, please let me know.
